Thank you, Jesus, for teaching me I must stay put until I am empowered by the Holy Spirit to do what I've been called to do according to Luke 24:49. Holy Spirit, thank you in advance for guiding me today. You are my spiritual GPS! I don't move without you! Father God, I thank you for not only filling me with the Holy Spirit but also empowering me through the Holy Spirit. I decree and declare I am empowered to live a transformed and impactful life. I decree and declare the Holy Spirit will use my life daily to draw others close to Jesus. I decree and declare I have daily victories over temptation and sin through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. I decree and declare I walk in the power of the Holy Spirit at all times. I bind up the enemy's plan to deceive me into thinking I can operate without the Holy Spirit. Father God, I trust your timing enough to wait on the constant guidance of the Holy Spirit. I trust my ability to let go, relax, be still, and know that God is God.

Have you ever felt overwhelmed by the need for mercy and compassion?
In today’s stories, Jesus exemplifies both. As He approaches Galilee, ten lepers cry out to Him for mercy. Jesus, moved by compassion, heals them all, yet only one returns to thank Him. This act of gratitude is a powerful reminder of how often we overlook the importance of giving thanks.
When was the last time you paused to thank God for His blessings in your life?
Later, when His disciples inquire about prayer, Jesus tells them a parable of a persistent widow and an indifferent judge. The widow’s unwavering persistence eventually leads the judge to grant her request. Jesus uses this story to illustrate the importance of being persistent in prayer, reassuring us that God, unlike the judge, is compassionate and ready to respond to our needs.
Do you find yourself giving up on prayer too soon? How can you cultivate a spirit of persistence in your prayer life?
The next day, Jesus addresses the crowd, teaching about humility. He contrasts the proud Pharisee, who boasts of his righteousness, with the humble publican, who seeks God’s mercy with a repentant heart. Jesus makes it clear that humility and a contrite spirit are what please God.
How often do we approach God with a humble heart, recognizing our need for His mercy and grace?
REFLECTION
Reflect on your own life and consider how you can embody gratitude, persistence, and humility. Begin by expressing thanks to God daily, acknowledging His blessings and mercies.
Commit to being persistent in prayer, knowing that God is compassionate and hears your pleas. Lastly, approach God with a humble heart, recognizing your need for His grace.
